Through the past couple of months BVSWs two teachers, Shawn Stelter and Robert Putnam, have been working in the Art Department with the classes they teach everyday. Each class has been working on a variety of art projects.
Putnam teaches Design Fundamentals, Ceramics 1&2, and Photography 2, this semester. With Design currently working on 1st point perspective, Photo 2 is beginning the studio lighting. While Ceramics 1, half of the students will work on the potters wheel and the other half working on ceremonial pots. Last, Ceramics 2 will be starting teapots.
Stelter teaches Design Fundamentals, Drawing 1&2, Painting 2, Sculpture 1&2, and Special Education art. Her Design class is currently working on perspective drawing of the SW hallways. While Drawing 1 is doing colored pencil drawings, Drawing 2 and Painting 2 are working on personal pieces to enter in the Pieces of the Pack art show. Sculpture is working on abstract plaster sculptures and Special Education art is working on soft texture sculptures.
“Working with my students and seeing their eyes light up when they find success in what they are doing artistically. Also, seeing them grow throughtout the semester,” Stelter said.
“Definitely working with students and watching them grow in their artistic abilities,” Putnam said.
Coming up May 3 the Pieces of the Pack art show will be opening at 6:30, in the BVSW art gallery.
