Black Friday: where to shop this Thanksgiving Season

Wolf Weekly 11/17: News

Everyone loves getting a deal, and the best time of the year for discounts is Black Friday. Occuring on the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday is filled with discounts, savings and crowded stores. In the past, Black Friday was a day in which  people would keep a tent outside of their favorite retailer’s store, waiting in line to be the first inside. However, Black Friday has been practically replaced with Cyber Monday, a day like Black Friday, but for online shopping.

Big stores that are participating in Black Friday this year are Target, Best Buy and Walmart. Best Buy is going to have the best deals in especially all kinds of technology, since they are a store that primarily sells tech. Walmart and Target are going to have deals on more general products. Items like video games, clothes and home accessories are going to be on sale there. Tech is still sold at these stores, but Best Buy is going to have a lot more options and stock.

However, consumers might not have to go to the store at all this year. People could get the same deals, or possibly better, on websites like Amazon. Even the big retailers are participating in Cyber Monday, so consumers might not have to make the trip to the store after all. However, there are some downsides. Internet access is required to shop online, plus there is a considerable  chance consumers will have to pay a shipping fee, causing the total to be more than just going to the store on Black Friday.

Keep an eye out at local retailers on what’s going on sale for those two days. Even though it has died down in recent years, Black Friday could give consumers the best deals of the year, and Cyber Monday makes getting those deals even easier and faster.
