Senior plans to travel to Uruguay for a year to learn about organic farming
At a time when most seniors are looking forward to the freedom and fun of college, one senior is headed toward a different goal. Senior Chase Landry will be spending next year in Uruguay, visiting various organic farms through the organization WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms).
“I needed to get out of Overland Park,” Landry said. “I need a break from everything.”
Though he is leaving the safety of the JoCo bubble, Landry will be joining members of his family.
“I’m moving down with my older sister Elise, we are going to visit my Aunt Kelly for a little bit,” Landry said.
He hopes for an eventual career in organic farming. However, he does have one fear about moving down south of the Equator.
“My biggest fear would be the spiders,” he said.
