I know lately this very question has been pondering your mind; “What is DECA?” Lets clearify. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America. DECA is a wonderful program for business passionate students. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. The earliest you can join is in 9th grade by taking classes like marketing, finance, hospitality, business management, or entrepreneurship  course. to stay in DECA you must stay enrolled in any one of these classes. DECA is great for preparing students for college and the real world. Several great opportunities come from DECA. One awesome opportunity is attending the DECA conference and competing in DECA’s Competitive Events Program. Basically you have 10 minutes in front of a judge to pitch a business plan or idea of a topic you just learned about 10 minutes previous to the judge. By competing you can earn up to $300,000 in scholarships and more. Another plus to joining DECA is that it spruces up your resume.
