Popular Books Turning into Movies

Although the books tend to be better than the movies most of the time, the eight books listed below have the potential to be made into great adaptations. These movies have either come out recently or will be coming out within the next year. There are many students throughout Blue Valley Southwest that can hardly wait to see these movies.

Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

This Golden Fleece is essential to saving Camp Half-Blood (the demigod camp) from attack. This book is filled with action, adventure, Greek mythology, good vs. evil, friendship, betrayal, and more! Read the book to find out what becomes of the demigods and their beloved camp.

The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

The above-mentioned teen shadow hunters show Clary the threatening world that she had been previously blind to. Another book filled with action and adventure, this is a must-read!

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Summary: This book tells the story of Liesel Meminger’s life as narrated by Death. The book is set in 1939 Nazi, Germany. It starts off with her being taken away to live with a foster family. She had stolen a book before she arrived: The Gravedigger’s Handbook. That was the beginning of the thieving of a long list of books to come. It is with these books that she has the strength to survive all the hard times she has to suffer through.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Some factions are planning to launch an attack on each other. Will Beatrice be able to stop this rebellion before it causes all the factions to crumble?

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
