Boys basketball falls flat against Northwest

The varsity boys basketball team was beaten by Blue Valley Northwest Tuesday.

The Huskies, led by Iowa State bound Clayton Custer, jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead before a timeout by the visiting Timber-wolves. The game got out of hand quickly as at the end of the 1st half Southwest was down 9-30.

The Huskies weapon of choice was the three ball. They knocked in 13 of them, most of which came in the 1st half.

Iowa State head basketball coach, Fred Hoiberg was in attendance to watch his recruit, Clayton Custer perform. The senior Custer didn’t disappoint, scoring 22 points to lead his team.

By EKL rules, a running clock was enforced in the 4th quarter, due to the lead ballooning over 30 in favor of Northwest.

Sophomore Steven Anderson led the Timber-wolves in scoring dropping 8 points.

Southwest will look to get back in the win column Friday against Bishop Meige.
