Frederick plays alongside the other players on the varsity team, as one of eight pitchers. He was the sole pitcher during the season opener against the Shawnee Mission North Indians on Sat. March 24. Where the Timberwolves went on to defeat th Indians with a final score of 6-0. Frederick allowed only 4 hits, and pitched five strikeouts during the whole game. He was alert and aware of who was on first base, quick to throw to first and coming close to tagging several of the Indians’ players. He struck out two Indians in the first inning, one in the second and two more in the fifth. Not only did Frederick spend time on the mound, he also spent time at home plate as a batter, helping a few players score throughout the game.
