Hot spots in the area: Parisi café

Desire for a hot beverage? This time, leave Starbucks alone, and go visit one of my favorite places in this area: the artisan coffee bar Parisi Café on Park Place.

This bar opened in early 2013 and is a part of its other location at Union Station one. Stepping inside the building, there’s no way of denying its tight design. This modern white, black and yellow interior represents everything its coffee has to offer. Parisi Café’s fundament of separating itself from most coffee places in this area assists in its good vibe.

Not feeling like taking a coffee today? No problem-o, try out Parisi Café’s hot chocolate with house-made cocoa sauce and steamed milk.
If you’re more a tea kind of person, I would recommend you taking the cinnamon rooibos. This delicious smelling tea is sweet and spicy tea and consists of rooibos, blended cinnamon and orange peel. Yummy, although it can become a little too spicy when you’re reaching the bottom of your cup.

Is your belly making awkward noises? That means that it’s time for a snack.
Try for example their cinnamon roll or its fresh baked croissant. Or consider taking a sandwich or salad during lunchtime. Are you more into something sweet? Treat yourself with their chocolate-chip cheesecake. This cake is nice and thick and not too sweet, as a cheesecake is supposed to be. At least they get it.

An important element of Parisi’s succes is that all of its brewing is done by pour-over ( also known as drip brewing ) or press ( press pot). It’s explains the experience they call Arte Della Tazza (Art from the cup).

Definitely take your time to enjoy your drink or snack while observing the dominating hipster crowd. Parisi Café’s relaxed vibe is perfect to work on your school work, while using its free wifi. Or come over with your friends, and try each others’ drinks and snacks to find out which one you like the most.

Or have a look at their little shop on the wall at the back of the store.

Need to pee before you leave? No worries, Parisi Café survived the toilet test: spic and span. And bonus: their toilets are huge.

You can find Parisi Café on Park Place, 5245 West 116th Place, Leawood, KS 66211.
